Product Description

Djembe Mute is the only practice pad made for djembes. It cuts the volume from all three djembe sounds so that you can hear the drum but your family or neighbors cannot.

Bonus tip: Leave the top cover on in church, club or backing performances where you want a softer sound. You'll still be able to hear the different sounds without being over-loud for your audience.

Enjoy great sound reduction with the Djembe Mute - choose from one of various African patterns on cloth imported from Ghana.

  • Easy installation and removal
  • One size fits drums up to 16"
  • Can be left on in most bags for extra protection
  • Helps protect drum heads and feet
  • Washable fabric (cold water)
Djembe Mute offers three levels of muting:
  1. Top only - reduces Slaps and Tones
  2. Bottom only - removes Bass
  3. Both - Maximum sound reduction

  1. Does what it says on the tin 5 Star Review

First time I used this, was surprised to find my wife came looking for me and was wondering where I'd gone! Vast improvement on towel or djembe hat/cover over the drum. I was playing lightly but still good since our place is pretty small.

  2. Great for Indoor use 5 Star Review

My 7 year old son recently start taking Djembe lessons and we live in a Condo complex. He wanted to practice everyday and I was concern about the noise to our neighbors. With the Djembe Mute he can just put the bottom on to reduce the base and still hear his tone and slaps or he can cover the top and still hear the rhythm that he's playing. I also use it when I play and it keeps the noise down while still allowing me to hear the rhythms I'm playing. Its also small enough to keep in his Djembe bag, so that he may always have it with him.
